Did you know that humble spice Nutmeg contains active aphrodisiac chemical – Myristicin – the precursor of the synthesised psychedelic drug MMDA (Ecstasy)?
Nutmeg is not really a nut as such, but a seed of the tree, which ripens at the centre of the nutmeg flowers and gets picked when the flower opens. Like some other plants (dill, parsnip, parsley, etc.) nutmeg seeds, leaves and flowers synthesize chemicals, which are able to produce psychoactive effects.
Nutmeg’s ‘magic’ was discovered by our ancestors centuries ago and had been used as a libido stimulant in many recipes. If used correctly, nutmeg can actually make you feel relaxed, happy and sexually stimulated, however over-dozing, can produce bad hangover.
Myristicin mixed with essential oils in nutmeg’s seeds can produce pleasant psychoactive effects of sharpened sensuality and enjoyable mild hallucination. It’s easy to use! Simply infuse your red wine with powdered nutmeg, or add it into your candles, smoking or incense mixes. The effect will kick in after an hour or so and will last for few hours.
