Many years ago I came across schisandra berries, which grow on the pretty vines in north-eastern China and Russia and known locally as aphrodisiac and “adaptogen”. For centuries schisandra was used for increasing resistance to disease and stress, increasing sexual energy, physical performance and endurance. High concentration of unique minerals and vitamins is able to support healthy libido and provoke sexual receptiveness.
The best time to collect schisandra berries is in late autumn when they become naturally semi-dried. I was lucky enough to pick them in the wilderness of Manchurian forest, however you might also find them at good herbal shops or online. Chewing 10 to15 of these aromatic bitter-sweet schisandra berries every day is enough to effectively elevate libido and make you feel invigorated. However, locals believe that their Love Balls recipe is even more effective in escalating lust if eaten prior to lovemaking:
Ingredients
- 30ml x cold water
- 100g x schisandra berries
- 2 table spoons x cold pressed honey
- 100g x raw pine nut kernels
- 30g x cocoa powder or grated dark chocolate
1. Place dried schisandra berries and pine nuts into a jar and pour 30ml of cold water, cover with lid and shake
2. Let it rest for 2-3 hours at room temperature
3. Using food processor, create berry-pine nuts paste
4. Add honey and mix until the mass will be homogenized
5. Dip hands into the cold water and form 12 balls
6. Roll balls in cocoa powder or grated dark chocolate.
Keep at room temperature and enjoy its delicious effects!
Warning: Due to a concern that schisandra berries could possibly stimulate the central nervous system, do not use schisandra if you have epilepsy.
